Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 April 2026
Spain Weather is operated by Suncurves AS ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
1. Data We Collect and Why
| Data type | Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Precise Location | Deliver weather forecasts, radar, and alerts for your current location. We use your location when you request local weather or enable location-based weather alerts. We do not continuously track your location. If you enable alerts, we store the location or area needed to send relevant weather warnings until you change it or delete your account. | Consent (iOS location permission) |
| Email Address | Account authentication via Sign in with Apple. Apple may provide a private relay address instead of your real email. | Contract (providing the service) |
| User ID | Identify your account so we can store your favorites, preferences, notification settings, and subscription status. | Contract (providing the service) |
| Device ID | Deliver push notifications for weather alerts you have subscribed to. | Consent (iOS notification permission) |
| Customer Support | If you contact us for support, we keep the correspondence to resolve your issue. | Legitimate interest |
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
2. Third-Party Services
We use the following services to operate Spain Weather:
- Apple (Sign in with Apple) — authentication. Apple Privacy Policy
- Supabase — database and authentication backend, hosted in the EU. Supabase Privacy Policy
- Heroku (Salesforce) — API hosting. Salesforce Privacy Policy
- Apple App Store — subscription billing. We do not receive your payment details.
These providers process data on our behalf to help deliver the service. Weather data is sourced from AEMET, EUMETSAT, ECMWF, and Copernicus. These sources receive API requests from our server, not directly from your device, and we do not share your personal data with them.
3. Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account (see below), we delete your personal data associated with the account. We may retain limited information where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or enforce our agreements.
Anonymous web analytics (page views on spainweather.eu) are retained in aggregate form and cannot be linked to individual users.
4. Delete Your Account and Data
You can permanently delete your account at any time:
- Open Spain Weather
- Go to About → Account
- Tap Delete Account
This deletes your account data, including favorites, preferences, notification settings, and stored alert locations, and revokes the Sign in with Apple token. This action cannot be undone, except that we may retain limited information where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
5. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data (see above)
- Request a copy of your personal data in a portable format
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
6. Children
Spain Weather is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or on this page. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
