Full forecast

Saturday will be largely settled across most of the country, with mostly clear skies or spells of high cloud through much of the centre, south and west. The exception will be the northern mainland, where skies will be greyer and rain is expected in western Galicia, the eastern north coast (Bay of Biscay coast), the Pyrenees and north‑east Catalonia. These showers could extend to the northern Balearic Islands, generally as moderate bursts. In the Pyrenees there may be light snow at high levels early in the day, with the snow line around 1600 to 1800 metres and rising as the day goes on. Scattered morning mist is also possible in mountain areas of the northern mainland. Minimum temperatures will fall across the mainland and the Balearic Islands, while daytime highs will drop in the eastern mainland and the Balearics and rise elsewhere. Weak frost is likely in mountain areas of the northern half. Winds will be westerly across the mainland and the Balearics, moderate in strength with occasional strong patches along coasts and in the north‑east. The strongest gusts are expected overnight in the lower Ebro and along the Ampurdán coast. In the Canary Islands the trade wind will be strong, with very strong gusts in exposed locations.

Based on the AEMET forecast issued 23 October, 10:16

Mostly settled, with light rain in the north and strong winds in exposed areas

On Sunday most of Spain will be calm, though the north of the mainland will see more cloud and some light rain in Galicia, along the north coast (Bay of Biscay) and in the western Pyrenees. Maximum temperatures will generally rise and a westerly wind will bring strong or very strong gusts to some coasts and to the Canary Islands.

Watch for: Light rainFogStrong wind

Full forecast

Sunday will be largely settled across mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands, with plenty of clear spells and some high cloud in many areas. The exception is the north of the mainland, where skies will be cloudier and light rain is possible, especially in Galicia, along the north coast (most notably its eastern sector) and in the western Pyrenees. Early on, banks of fog may form in mountain areas of the north. In the Canary Islands expect abundant cloud, with low cloud over the northern slopes of the islands and medium and high cloud further south; isolated light rain cannot be ruled out, particularly on the higher islands. Maximum temperatures will rise across most of the country. Minimums will also trend upward, with a clearer increase in the far north-west of the mainland, while temperatures in the Canary Islands will change little. Winds will be westerly on the mainland and in the Balearics, moderate across the Balearic Islands, on coasts and inland north-east areas. There will be periods of strong cierzo in the lower Ebro valley and intervals of tramontana in the Ampurdán, with possible very strong gusts in northern Galicia and along the north coast. The trade winds in the Canary Islands will remain strong but are expected to ease gradually.

Monday 26 October

Settled Monday across mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands, with rain in the northwest and the Canary Islands

Monday will be generally quiet over most of Spain, with sun or some high cloud across mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands. Only light rain is expected in the far northwest, the eastern Bay of Biscay and the Pyrenees, and especially on the western Canary Islands.

Full forecast

Monday will be dominated by settled conditions over much of the country. On mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands skies will be mostly clear or only lightly clouded, with spells of high cloud and no rain across the majority of areas. Early on there may be low cloud over the northern plateau and along stretches of the Mediterranean coast, but these should lift by midday. The exception will be the far northwest, the eastern Bay of Biscay and the Pyrenees, where it will be cloudier and light showers are possible. Scattered patches of morning fog may also form on the coasts of Galicia, across the northern plateau and in the mountain areas of the northern mainland. Maximum temperatures will continue to rise across the mainland, while in the southeast and the Balearic Islands they will change little. Minimum temperatures will see only small variations, with slight rises in the northeast and southeast and small falls in the northwest. In the Canary Islands a cloudier day is expected, with rain mainly on the western islands and temperatures trending upwards. Winds will generally be light and variable over mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands, although an easterly flow will set in with moderate strength along the Mediterranean. Winds in the Strait of Gibraltar may be strong at times, and the Galician Atlantic coast will see a moderate southerly with occasional stronger spells. In the Canary Islands an easterly wind will be moderate at first and tend to ease to light and variable as the day goes on, except in the eastern islands.

Tuesday 27 October

Mostly settled, with light rain in the northwest and more cloud across the Canary Islands

Tuesday will be largely quiet across Spain, with mostly clear skies. Expect only light rain in the far northwest — possibly reaching the eastern Bay of Biscay coast — and cloudier conditions with some rain over the Canary Islands.

Watch for: Light rainFogCoastal winds

Full forecast

Tuesday will remain generally settled across mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands, with many hours of sunshine and only occasional high cloud. The exception is the far northwest, where an incoming front will bring thicker cloud and generally light rain, which could intermittently reach parts of the eastern Bay of Biscay coast. Along the Mediterranean coast the morning may begin with low cloud, but skies should tend to clear by midday. In the Canary Islands it will be cloudier, with a lot of mid- and low-level cloud and precipitation mainly over the higher islands. There may also be some patches of fog in the early hours along parts of the Galician coast and the Mediterranean shoreline. Maximum temperatures will fall in the western mainland and over the mountainous islands of the Canaries, while changing little elsewhere. Minimums will vary little overall, with a slight tendency to rise. Winds will generally be light and variable, with an easterly over the Mediterranean more noticeable along the coasts, though easing over the Alboran Sea and the Strait of Gibraltar.
